ClickToFlash Vs BashFlash
The difference between ClickToFlash and BashFlash is that each has its own purpose yet complements each other well.
- ClickToFlash: lets you choose which flash to load while blocking all others by default
- BashFlash: lets you keep a watch on CPU consumption by flash and provide an option to kill it when it exceeds a certain level

MacUpdate Bundle Sep 2010
MacUpdate is currently running a mac bundle promotion offering 12 mac apps at a discounted price of $49.99 (original cost $443.54).
The enticing app in the package is Toast Titanium. However I don’t remember when I last burnt a CD or DVD. But one interesting feature in Toast Titanium is the ability to capture streaming video and audio (certain formats from certain websites). The other interesting apps in the bundle include My Living Desktop (but not sure if this a short lived curiosity to run a video wallpaper), Espionage (I am used to encrypting the entire home folder using free FileVault), Get Backup Pro (I already use SuperDuper), Voila (I am waiting for SnagIt Mac version).
Here is the list of all the apps included in the bundle:

- MindNode Pro
- Concentrate
- Cashculator
- My Living Desktop
- Toast 10 Titanium
- Live Interior 3D Std
- Espionage
- ShareTool
- Get Backup Pro
- Voila
- Compartments (for first 20,000 buyers)
- Vitamin-R (for first 20,000 buyers)
ClickToFlash Review
ClickToFlash application is at the top of my most useful and best mac applications list.
Most of the websites today have some flash based contents. While some are useful such as flash based videos most others are distracting advertisements. If the site has some heavy flash content my Mac makes huge noise and heats up so quickly that I have to force quit the Safari. The moment I close the browser the fan noise would come down immediately.
It was very frustrating but not any more after installing this application. What this application does is simple but profound - it blocks all flash based content from loading.

Wow! What a difference it made to my mac and to my browsing experience – no more noise or heat build up. The best part is you get to choose which specific flash (such as video) you want to load while block others (such as advertisements). It even provides an option to whitelist a site so that the application remembers your choice next time when you visit the same site.
The application provides two easy ways to configure the behavior:
- Contextual menu: click on the gear in the upper left corner of the flash content

- Safari menu: Safari > ClickToFlash > Settings

In case if you dont like the application (which I doubt) it provides an easy way to uninstall in the settings – neat !

My final review comments for ClickToFlash:
- Good: Easy to use, simple to configure, my Mac is much quieter and cooler
- Bad: may be for Adobe !
