Use of dialing pause in iPhone calls

Sometime the number you call may be answered by an automated voice asking to enter your choice (extension number, department, etc.,) to connect further. If you need to frequently call that number it is a pain to type those same choices again and again. Luckily iPhone provides a feature to avoid that extra typing – dialing pause - a time delay between your choices.

For example you called a company’s 1800 number and then you typed 1 for existing customers and then 3 for billing issues. When you store that number in your contacts list store something like below format

1800number,,,1,,,3

Now if you call that number from your contacts stored in the above format, iPhone types those choices automatically in response to the automated voice requests.

The number of commas you need may vary depending on the automated voice system answering your call. By trial and error you will be able to figure out the correct number of pauses (commas), a worthy one time effort !

Warning: For security reasons do not store any sensitive or confidential information such as pin numbers, passwords, access codes etc.,

How to transfer photos from iphone to mac computer without sync

Although there are many ways to transfer photos from iPhone to your Mac, this tip doesn’t involve sync. This is useful especially if you have many photos in your camera roll and you want to download only selected pictures quickly instead of waiting to sync all.

  1. Connect your iphone to mac.
  2. Launch ‘Image Capture’ application from applications folder or search it in spotlight.
  3. Once ‘Image Capture’ launched, you will see your iPhone listed under devices on the left side and all the images in the right side.
  4. Import selected images or all to your computer.

By default it imports to Pictures folder.
